Welcome to this month’s meeting.

We start with a massive thank you for all the Easter Chicks, they have been so popular again this year and with still a couple of weeks to Easter they are going to make an amazing amount of money for the new cancer unit and bring a smile to the face of families supported by Foodbank.

Our flower tree for the flower festival at the church is going to be brilliant by the look of the lovely flowers you have made.  It will be on display Friday 12th and Saturday 13th April.  Do try to come along and see it.

                           Projects for April

1) We have had some brilliant  knitting brought in for The Mission to Seafarers, www.missiontoseafarers.org,  We have almost enough for our first parcel to send off, which is great.  They work in over 200 ports from 50 different countries caring for seafarers of all ranks, nationalities and beliefs.  So that’s a lot of balaclavas needed.  We have their patterns for hats, mufflers, balaclavas and fingerless mitts.

2) Operation Orphan, www.operation-orphan.org, would still love more of our knitting for their ‘Keep a child warm’ campaign.  They put some lovely photos of them delivering blankets on the internet the other day.  They would love hat, mitts, scarves, jumpers and blankets.

For those of you on Social Media do ‘like’ our Facebook page as we put lots of little bits on it – some useful – some not!!

3) Teddies and puppets are always a favourite with the Children’s Dept at RUH.

4) Innocent Hats for AgeUK are a great ‘stash buster’.

5) Hugababies – The blankets, hats and booties please.  The plan is to take what we have so far down to Dorset this month.  It’s been mentioned by a certain ‘male’ that we have a car not a lorry!!

6) Pink Flowers for ‘Evie’s Gift’.  This local charity appears to be going from strength to strength with the good work it is doing in helping families with children in hospital.  So, thank you for all the flowers which really helps with their fundraising.

7) As soon as Easter comes, the spring/summer events start.  So as always, we would love any knitted items to sell for the hospital.  Your fantastic work has helped us raise thousands of pounds so far and we really are grateful.  Toys being one of the favourites.

8) Easter, Spring, summer - Our next request is for poppies.  We’re sure you all saw how amazing Melksham looked last November.  Well they would now like to decorate inside St. Michaels church as well this year.

So, the earlier we can get the poppies to Sue the better for her.
