The Church is a member
of the Melksham Family of Churches.
The ‘Family’ consists of:
St Michael’s Anglican, in Canon Square
St Andrew’s Anglican, in the Forest area of the town
St Barnabas’ Anglican, in Beanacre
St Anthony’s R.C. Church, in West End
Melksham United Church, in the High Street (Methodist/United Reformed)
Melksham Baptist Church, Old Broughton Rd.
There are other churches in the town that are not in membership of the ‘Family’, including:
The Church of God of Prophecy, who meet at Melksham Baptist Church, Old Broughton Rd, from 1.00pm Every Sunday.
Core Church, who meet in Bowerhill Primary School
Ebenezer Baptist Church who meet in Union Street
Good News Church, who meet in the Town Hall
The Redeemed Christian Church of God who meet in Bowerhill Village Hall.
All Nations Christian Fellowship who meet in the former Methodist Church Hall at bottom of Church Lane
Although not members of the ‘Family’, there is a close relationship with these churches, which often participate with the ‘Family’ in joint events.
The ‘Family’ works through a Council, and each church is entitled to appoint three members – one ministerial and two lay persons. The Council meets on alternate months.
The ‘Family’ churches have entered into a written covenant with each other, and a copy is available in the Church vestibule for reference. The aim of the ‘Family’ primarily is ‘to do those things together which we need not do separately’ with a focus on bringing Christ to the community of Melksham.
